I was rear ended by a semi

as I slowed due to zero visibility from wildfire smoke. My truck is totalled and the other insurance company doesn't seem to be doing anything. I had liability insurance at the time of the accident, so my insurance doesn't cover my vehicle damages. I have a lawyer but he doesn't seem to be doing much. I've never dealt with this before and I'm not sure if I am being impatient or if I should be pursuing other actions to resolve this.
