MyLeague Rotation Timeline Problems

I’ve been playing around with rotation timelines for the first time and can’t get them to be consistent? I played one 1st quarter and my set rotation was followed and then played that same 1st quarter again and the rotation was abandoned and went back to the default 5 man substitution. The whole system is pretty unintuitive so any advice would be appreciated
