Having to give up sun conure

I am terrible saddened that my family will have to give up our sun conure. We are moving into different apartments after selling our house, and obviously no apartment would allow a sun conure to stay. What is the best option for the bird? Try to find a local rescue? I don't want to just throw up an ad on Craigslist or give it to someone with a passing interest as we all know birds require more care than most people are aware. Not sure I have time to vet a new home, but I'm also worried about the quality of a rescue if I can even find one. This is awful, but any recommendations on the best thing to do for the bird?

Edit: I'm not sure if everyone is aware of just how loud sun conures are. They are incredibly loud. Also, I should have mentioned this earlier, but I am worried about the level of care the bird would have if it stayed with us. The family is splitting up, no one person could give her the proper attention that we were able to do collectively.
