Yes, that’s the real price. If you book a Premier resort (Hard Rock, Portofino, or Royal Pacific), the express pass is included for every day. It’s sometimes even a better deal if you only book the room. Even if you just check in but never set foot in the room, it could save you money.

Side Note - Royal Pacific is usually the cheaper of the options!

I think it’s priced based on the season. Summer is busier. If you stay at Royal Pacific, Hard Rock or Portifino, fast passes are included with your stay.

Book a room at a Deluxe Loews resort. You get fast passes for everyone staying in the room (maybe up to 4? Not sure) for both day of check in and check out.

At a DELUXE Loews resort. All the Universal hotels are Lowes but lower tier ones such as Aventura or Cabana Bay will not get you Express Pass.

I wish they at least had a discount on express passes for people staying at their other resorts. I can afford their premier hotels, but Sapphire Falls is my favorite out of all of them.

I feel that way about cabana bay. I may be guilty of booking a night at cabana bay and hrh on the same night so we could have express passes...

Added deluxe to my comment!

Hotel is the best way. but it may be hard to find a room if the dates from your snapshot is your travel dates. My family is going the last week of July, and plan on getting a room for one night. One night would get all four of us passes for 2 days and only cost about $580 total. We have a 2 bed 2 bath off site hotel, so we won't sleep in the smaller loews room, just booking the cheapest room possible for passes. Without the room it would cost us $1000 a day for both days. We are just booking the room and buying tickets separately. Also not sure how long you're going, but they may not have a room for one night but do for another. So if you'll be there the whole week and only want to book a room for one night for passes. They may not have a room for the night of the 15th or 16th, but do for the 17th. So just play around with the dates and adjust your trip accordingly. We're doing 2 days Universal, 2 Disney, and last day we'll just explore other things.

When are you going? As said, Express Passes prices are based on the season and how busy the parks will be.

If you are going during "off peak" times (pretty much when school is in session) express passes might not be needed.

Well considering today IS the 14th I figured the picture was more of an example then anything.

Because it is a little late to be thinking of that day of and little late to be thinking of getting Deluxe hotel rooms and other ideas day of.

Universal is not the planning juggernaut that Disney is but you should not begin to look at Express Pass prices and options the day you arrive.

Our family of 4 (all adults) are going tomorrow and Wed. We had planned on getting express passes online and saw that price and were so shocked and disappointed! Redditors came to the rescue and steered me towards premier hotels. They were all booked, but I checked back a few times every day last week and found an open night at Portofino Bay. It’s costing around $500 for the 4 of us, but way better than $1300/day, plus we get 2 days instead of just one, early admission, free shuttle service from the hotel, and a place to go if we need a break late afternoon. We are renting a house outside Orlando all week, but are still staying the one night at Portofino for the convenience and benefits.

Am I confusing this with something else? This website says it's $90.

anonymousy12•

It says from $90, it will be that low during certain times of the year, but during holidays and summer when it's much more crowded, those prices sky rocket. For the dates I'm going it's $250 per person per day.

Krak2511•

It should be at $90 in January after MLK Day right? That's when I'm planning a trip (unconfirmed at the moment).

I wouldn't know about January but as far as holidays, I think the holidays it goes up around are the ones where kids get a significant break from school. Around Christmas and New Year's, Spring Break. Anything where it would give enough time to travel and come back before it's time to head back to school. I couldn't imagine it being high around the time you're considering, I think it'll be high around New Year's but drop before it get anywhere near the 17th but I have no idea if I'd be right in that assumption.

That time if year, typically, you don't even need Express Passes. Granted, this coming year will be a little different with folks having been stuck at home this past year, but that's not considered peak season.

If you're going during the summer, book one of the resorts that include those. But during the off-peak times when kids are typically in school, you might not need them at all, and if you do decide you want them, you can purchase them in the park.

Typically (again with the current year being an exception), during off-peak season you'll experience around 20-45 minute waits for most rides. Some will even be walk ons. You can do a ton just by keeping your rides to in the mornings and evenings. Middle of the day will be the largest crowds, so walk around, shop, eat, watch shows, or take a break during those times. The newer rides can be an exception with longer waits but if the others aren't too bad you still come out ahead. Also bear in mind that you're likely not going to be able to use Express Passes on anything particularly new. Finally, I recommend experiencing the regular queues at least once. There's a lot you'll miss by using only the EP line.

If you do 2 park express pass, it starts at $99 but prices vary by the date. For the dates in question, i just saw $329 per ticket. OP would probably be better off price wise booking a hotel room at a place that offers express pass if there are still rooms available (since it appears that the group is going tomorrow).

Stay at a premier for 1 night. U all get express passes for 2 whole days. Then to save money, check in a cheaper hotel. But atleast u got 2 days of passes!
