left joy-con analog stick won’t register up/down or clicks

It's just busted. There is a reason they started selling them separately.

New controller time.

Isopropyl alcohol and ear cottoned sticks.

Soak them in the solution, and clean the gaps that makes the joystick and wait 'till it dries.

Another solution is dismantle the whole thing. Disengage the battery, and bath the whole joycon in the same alcohol for half an hour. Then get it off and let it dry completely. Then plug everything in place again.

Most of times it works.
