Your tart looks absolutely delicious and rich!
Would you please share your recipe for the base and lemon filling?
Thank you! They were delicious and I am particularly happy with the shell. Shortbread dough recipe is here: https://share.mysaffronapp.com/a/shared/recipe/3ezVFtRqU/conticinis-lemon-vanilla-shortcrust-pastry-dough
I rolled it out thin, placed in molds and chilled before blind baking at 350 F for 15 min. Makes about 12 4 inch tarts.
Filling is standard lemon curd (I used 4 egg yolks, 1 whole egg, 1 cup sugar and 2/3 cup lemon juice. ) Make sure you don't use a steel pan or bowl for this because lemon reacts with metals to absorb a metal taste. Ceramic, glass or non-stick coated is fine.
Here is a recipe that has assembly directions. https://share.mysaffronapp.com/a/shared/recipe/-lEo_BXrb/lemon-meringue-tart
Thank you so much for sharing the recipe and including your notes! Really appreciate it!
It’s gorgeous.
Does the meringue taste like cream
It's a little closer to marshmallow than dairy cream. Being just egg whites and sugar it has a pretty neutral flavor, unless flavors are added.
oh ,i get it , that's good!
Perfection! 👍
Yay! I made coconut cream this weekend.
Nice, did you make anything with it?
Yes a coconut cream pie with sky high meringue (3/4 cup sugar, 5 warm egg whites, 1/4 tsp cream of tartar and a 1/2 tsp vanilla).
Sounds delicious
