#1 Player on the TG ladder has been banned. When will the devs take the same approach for the pro players abusing the system the same way?
Ever since the new elo update came out, pro players have been using smurf accounts to go up against lower rated teams and gain elo. The #1 rated player on the ladder has been banned for this. Today, I came across vivi, but noticed many others (e.g. Lyx) doing the same:

You'll notice two things going through these players' profiles:
• Having a teammate that is significantly lower elo in all TG games. These are usually fresh accounts, made days before, and sometimes have a low 1v1 rating to disguise the fact they are smurfs.
• Massive TG elo gain since new elo system update, with insane streaks that were just not the norm for them before the update.
Why is this not being addressed by the devs/community, and why are these people not being called out? Especially disappointed in vivi & lyx, who are well known and respected in the community, participating in such disgusting tactics.

What I just adore about reddit is how easy it is to blame/accuse someone without providing a lot of proofs.
I did not do much research, and don't have time for that. I did the most basic fact-checking.
The first you mentioned is Lyx. He does indeed play with lower rated players. Recently they lost to a team where all players were 2300-2450 tg ELO. I checked 1v1 ELOs for opponents team, they are between 1100 and 1550. That would be a very surprising loss for smurfs.
Ok, that may have been a bad accident, someone dc-ed or something. The point was that his teammates are smurfs and new accounts. I looked at the first of them, guy called Darker`. 92 games, 943 ELO, when he/she plays he usually plays like 2 games in an hour, many games in a row. If he/she goes that far to lose games to a weaker opponent by spending half an hour on each of them, and does it 50 times I am amazed by the dedication to boosting someone else team ELO.
There may be of course way more suspect matches/teams, but you did not provide any examples of such or other proofs, just accusations for well-respected players.
If not providing any proofs, I can also post a ridiculous theory. Like, for example, streamers can team up with their viewers or get paid for playing team games/mentoring during a team game with lower ELO players. Even more absurd, they can have real life friends that don't play the game at high level, but they enjoy playing together.
Exactly. If the system lets you go for the ranked queue with whoever you want, you should be allowed to go to the ranked queue with whoever you want
Ok, so why did the top player get banned for smurfing?
Maybe his teamate was doing that? The low level player with Lyx on the other hand does not look like a smurf, like others said already, so you cannot complain about him.
how you know top player is banned ?
