This is not scary. (update) Oh, yes it is.
This is an update. The previous update, and links to the rest of the story, are here
I guess I made it - him - whatever - angry. Either that, or he decided to go on the offensive. My apartment is still protected, but all kinds of crap has been going on at work. Half of our equipment is down. In the meantime, for other reasons, I'm taking some vacation days, and looking for a new job. My crazy boss is as bad as ever, so I'm dealing with her during the day, and him at night.
Night before last in another confrontation during the dream state, he really went on the offensive, trying to drown me with a thunderstorm.
The next day, I felt sick all day. It was like the flu bug I just finished beating (which my son now has) had returned with a vengeance... Aches, pains, and nausea... except with no other symptoms at all. My son had to stay home sick from school. He came home from his grandmother's with what's going around, and he was just that sick. I spent most of the day focused on his care, but while he was napping, I did some things to try to dampen the effects of the energy exchange.
In the shower, I poured salt water over my head and let it run over me, focusing on washing out any energy that wasn't mine, or was otherwise unwanted. Of course, I had to wash the salt water off, because it would dry out my skin, but just running it over me should have done something.
Next, I made a potpourri of kitchen herbs (cinnamon, clove, rosemary, sage) and added eucalyptus oil to further help push the bad energy out. I did a similar candle burning to the one that worked on my apartment, and let the scents from the potpourri permeate the rooms.
The whole time, I felt like I was trying to pull something out of myself that was still attached and living, like a hangnail, or a bad tooth, except throughout my entire body.
When it was over, I felt like I should do more, but was unable to devote the attention to it that I needed. I kept telling myself that it was just because of how alien that energy had felt to me. I was like Lady MacBeth trying to wash the blood off of her hands; it wasn't that I still needed more magic. I was just that creeped out by what had happened.
I did not want to go to sleep last night, either, but by the end of the day, I was totally exhausted, and couldn't help it. I crashed, and he found me.
I've made a big mistake. Now that he's had a little taste, he's never going to leave me alone. I tried to run away in the dream, but now that I'm awake, I realize, that's not an option. He's made up his mind, and now he's going to try to make up mine, too... and I'm starting to get a very scary picture of the answer he's deliberately not giving me when I ask him where "through" is going to take him.
