[Daily Hero tl;dr #20] Broodmother
Now, I know Reddit hates spiders .. but today is Broodmother.
TL;DR -
- Skills - Spiderlings (3,4,5,10) Web (1,7,8,9) Bite (2,12,13,14) Hunger (6,11,16)
- Items (lane) - minor stats, regen, rush Soul Ring
- Items (early) - Treads, BKB, Vlads
- Items (later) - Butterfly, Orchid, Heart
- Tips - PUSHPUSHPUSH, attack carries at the beginning of fights to make them miss
- Counters - anti-invis (gem, wards), AoE damage
I'm going to start out this guide explaining why this hero is one of the best in the game. This hero has 1) survivability, 2) lots of DPS, 3) a good nuke, and 4) super strong pushing power. Why this hero is so strong is she can push really really well (hence strong early game) and then do a lot of damage (hence strong late game).
Since a recent remake, level 4 Spawn Spiderlings only summons 3 spiders, so level 4 isn't completely necessary unless you really want that extra 75 damage. I personally like to take a level of Bite early, that slow might come in handy plus a slight miss chance, it's nice if you're harassing a lot in lane (which you should until they get wards).
So because you have so much strengths, you want to rush the items that reduces your weaknesses. You have two of them: you are frail and you have little mana. Grab Soul Ring ASAP and that solves all your mana problems pretty much forever. Regen from your webs are more than enough for the lost health. Then you want to get BKB you can fearlessly run into rights and right click some opponents. If you're not stunned, you're probably lifestealing enough damage from Hunger to stay alive.
During all of the game you are pushing. Spawn Spiderlings off creeps, kill creeps for more spiderlings, and kill towers. Force your enemies to try to defend - and if they do run away in a web. Continuously keep the pressure on your opponents, make them pay if they forget about you for a couple of minutes by taking a tower. Taking towers naturally improves your own farm - you don't need to stay static in a lane to grab a quick BKB.
