Hey folks!
I'm trying to figure out if I should save up resin to unlock Uphold, or upgrade the vaults I've been placing around where I live. What's peoples take on this?

I chose to use resin on my first three vaults before unlocking uphold. I actually wish I had done at least another one or two before getting uphold as the added resin drops are awesome. Just depends on how badly you want control of your coins.

You can place your UVs down and not put in any resin to reserve the location.
Can you place them anywhere or do you have to physically be in the location to place em?
Just placed my first today! You have to physically be there and they ask for a picture of the location along with a good name and some tags: park, tourist attraction, view, etc.

I believe the medium term plan (as in no date yet, but likely fairly soon), is for you to need to make a 'reset visit' about once a month to each UV or it will get terminated. I guess so you can't hop on a plane and drop all 10 in Times Square or something.
I prefer more vaults, since it means that I build up my crypto and resin (higher chance at UV’s, and more chances thanks to more vaults). But you do what makes sense for you.
I would go for user vaults first unless you think crypto is going to nosedive in the next few weeks and want to get it out quickly, haha. They have higher drop rates of both keys and resin, so the more you're able to build the more dividends you'll reap from them. They also drop more resources, which you'll eventually be able to sell in the marketplace for even more keys.
For reference, there are 10 UVs on my daily route (along with a green and 8 normal blues) and I tend to get at least 1,000 resin every time I take it, the majority of that coming from UVs. So it really doesn't take that long once you've built your area up!

Well look at this guy. Meanwhile I have 6 blues, 0 green, and 1 UV (that I built).
That's around what I started with, 8 of the UVs are mine and the other two I contributed most of the resin to. Took four months of saving resin but it snowballs once you get the first UV or two built.
I do wish it was easier for non-city players to get the first few. Maybe make vaults drop more resin if they're far away from any other vaults?

And there isn't a time limit to fill them. For now anyways.
I unlocked Uphold first because I'm always skeptical of things that are too good to be true. Since then, I've built 2 user vaults pretty quickly. I can build maybe 2 per week.
Oh what it would be like to have that problem. I'm setting up my vaults but at this rate it'll be august before I can get a second one resined up. Although, did see first dozer in the area that isn't mine so hope is building!
This is how I feel, too. It takes weeks just to build 1 UV in my area.
Unless you are desperate for crypto, build all 10 UVs first.
Vaults first, can hit 6/10 vaults in a 10 min walk. I make 4-5 keys daily….do the math

I did Uphold first, but now I wish I had done the vaults first. The whole process would be much faster with the extra resin production.

It really depends on how seriously you’re going to play the game and how much faith you have in it growing. I personally have a lot of faith and go on a hunt everyday so I’ve made it my mission to make all of my UVs before I even consider unlocking uphold.
If you have faith in the game and see yourself playing long term, I recommend building UVs before uphold. If you’re trying to make a quick buck and forget the game, unlock uphold before messing with UVs in order to secure your withdrawals.

I completely agree. Longterm it's better to quickly build all 10 Uservaults, somewhere where you can hit them once or twice a day.
Agreed. Definitely UVs since they produce more resin than normal vaults. I also think it's best to get resin production up before unlocking Uphold.
But the main uses for resin are building UVs and unlocking Uphold. After you've done both, why do you need a large resin income?
