Backfire PVP template and gameplay

Good day agents.

The next build in the series of “make this exotic work in PvP” is one id been working on a while: Backfire. Luckily, iDentity (incredible creator, check out his channel if you haven’t), has posted a video recently showing his version.

In all honesty, I just optimized his build a little bit and adapted it. The basic gist of the build is a hazard protection build but there’s a little more to it: 3 reds 3 blues. 2 ceska , 1 yaahl, ridgeway and either 2 sokolov or 1 sokolov 1 grupo. You want hazard protection and crit damage on every single slot you can roll it. Backpack talent is wicked. This yields a base 55 CHC, 130 CHD, bleed immune and about 80 all hazard immune. I go back and forth whether to go demolitionist and be bleed and burn immune or just stay firewall for the better shield and med kit. I don’t think I actually used the spec weapon for any of the kills in these videos. Nothing really special about the skills: disrupt bomb and shield are pretty standard skills to use at 0-15 meters so they make sense.

What this build does well: won’t die to status builds for obvious reasons. Face trades very well against regen tanks as you have similar health regen and significantly more damage. Has a better damage / survivability ratio than all red builds (ie you’ll face trade them if you’re in range.) bleed reduces movement speed so once you’re in range, ridgeway prevents a target from escaping.

Weaknesses: didn’t run into it, but I suspect a mouse and key or chronus using shotgun user will one tape it since it’s 3 blue cores. If the enemy is using a ranged build and wisely is centered on recon (drone / spotter grip / pulse with low cooldown), you’re helpless. Don’t see this as much in conflict but I could see it being trouble in the DZ.

Anyways, this one is very strong and again I’d like to credit iDentity for being the spark on this one. Here’s the build and gameplay.
