It has now been yet another productive year learning in this prestigious academy.

I have done nothing but focus on my studies and experiments. I managed to get the hang of space magic to the point where I can apport a small crystal to me. It was only about 1 cubic centimeter in size and it was only a few feet away from me, but still. A good first success.

I also had some annoying humans start hanging around me, constantly trying to take my attention away from my studies of space magic. Asking me to ‘hang out’ and ‘come eat lunch with them’ then doing that with me anyway without my consent. I will not, thank you very much! I had enough of that in my life on Earth.

This is research into experimental magic, not the magic of friendship!

Sorry about that, just kind of annoyed by them. Anyways, I also made some advancements into mana crystallization. The one that I made and hid on the roof is still there, it has also grown to be about the same size as my index finger and the same weight as an adult cat.

That status report on Crys the crystal (yes I named it) being done, my latest one to be made was able to have a shape other than a diamond shaped crystal. I was trying to make a sword shaped one because why not and I instead got a stretched diamond shape with a second smaller one going across in a line, making a very crude tiny sword with a crossguard.

It is very cute and not at all what I was trying to get but it sure is good to see progress on that front.

I have also turned it into a pendant and placed it on a string. I now have that little sword hanging down from around my neck.

Oh, my armour is done now. C’thithra made sure that I got the message asap, so I guess that she might want to see me after a while of not seeing me. She has said that Gält and Gült have been saying that it is their best creation yet, so I just can't wait to get back and see what they have come up with.

With that being said, I am leaving the academy next month. I am taking Crys with me along with all of the research papers that I have had to write while there. This also includes some of the research papers not written by me that sound interesting. [Invisibility] is going to be a huge help with that whole process.

In other words, I will be returning back to Gerüße and taking magic stuff with me.

Those brats that were pests are open to try and follow me, that is if they know who I am and where I’ll be going. Who knows, I might even befriend them if they manage to find me and recognize me as that Oliver Thornback that they never got a real friendly reaction from.

I also started thinking about unlocking the minion [Evil Genie] so that I can later have [Pocket Plane] and then I thought better of myself. So what if I can spend as much time as I want studying there with little time shifting in the outside world? I need to be able to survive multiple hits from Lorkmar’s hero and survive, perhaps even overcome their strength and defeat the hero.

Yeah fat chance.

I… think I’ll save up those points for another decade at the least. They’ll at the very least be very useful in what I am thinking of doing.

Could hitting myself with magic help to increase my resistance through training? I don’t know, but it is definitely worth a shot. If it is, then I should have at least a seven in resistance right now due to how many times I have blown my own limbs off from mana implosion.

In any case, it should be fun to see what will happen next.

Ah, she’s a beauty. This little one made for me by Gält and Gült is. Absolutely stellar work and quality. They collaborated with one another the whole time while crafting this armament and it shows. They also collaborated on the name to bestow on this masterpiece. They named it Schutz. A great name for it.

Schutz is very light for me, Gält, Gült, and people I have allowed to hold it. If I do not allow them to hold or wear Schutz, then they get very very heavy. So heavy in fact that no matter what their strength level is, they are unable to lift it.

To test this, I had C’thithra try to lift Schutz. She, with all of her 12 points of strength, was unable to lift Schutz. Then I gave her the permission to and she lifted it like it was a feather. Simply fantastic.

Schutz can also withstand my current strongest magical attack with even breaking a sweat. It has the ability for all of my tentacles and my wings to protrude out of it. It even has slight magic shielding that increases in power depending on how much of my mana I supply it.

The best part is that Schutz is form fitting, flexible and quite breathable. I could wear it underneath my normal clothes and no one would be the wiser. I cannot thank those two enough for working so hard on this armour.

C’thithra has also done a great job looking over my beautiful territory. It has easily grown stronger in the 3 years that I have been gone. The people in my territory have also become crazier in the 3 years I have been gone. They knew I was gone for some reason, but they didn’t know why that was. I didn’t want them to know that I had gone to learn more magic, so I told none other than C’thithra and Adreana about my little plan.

So this lack of information caused many different rumors of what I was doing to spring up.

“He went to go and take the fight to them personally!” “He went out to speak of diplomacy” “He’s crazy and is trying to bring the end to all of the world!” Rumors like those. I won’t deny that I think that some of them are pretty damn fun to hear. I also cannot deny that they are almost all wrong. I did allow C’thithra to start a rumor that told the truth of what I did.

It only got as far as a small rumor.

Most people dismissed the idea as totally crazy, saying things like “Why would Lord Thankly ever do that?”

I would, in fact, do something like that.

Not very many people in Gerüße think that I would be gone for a long time learning magic. Mind you, they see me as a magic focused demon lord from what the guards training in the training arena saw me doing. Those guards then likely told their spouses and from their spouses to their neighbors and so on. So most all of them should know that. So how?

In other news, I have set up a simple song from Earth as my growing city state’s anthem. I don’t know why I thought that up in the shower one day but I sure am glad that the past human me was so cringe.

I think I am going to need to unlock goblins. Just so that I have the crafty little guys setting up traps in my dungeon. That will also give reason for my citizens and strong adventurers to venture into my dungeon other than “I want to test myself in that dangerous place.”

They’ll have to go in to take out goblins BEFORE they get too numerous and get to the surface. I’ll only summon around 100 of the little buggers to floor 12 or 13, so it won’t be too bad, but still. I want people to go into my dungeon.

For now, though, I will have to just deal with only placing specially made gold coloured semi-see-through holographic copper coins with an image of one of my tentacles in random and sparse areas in my dungeon. There will be six different coins/tokens with each one displaying a different one of my tentacles. It will be a huge pain setting the first six up, but all of the rest past that point will be easier due to me being able to just copy those first ones.

People that bring one or more of those coins to one of Rool’s storefronts or affiliated stores gets one or more items half off. That is one hell of an incentive for those that want to get a far better weapon but can’t afford it. Also for the ones that want to save money. As an additional bonus, one can purchase an item of any price via the use of one of each kind of coin.

These special coins are then cycled back into the dungeon via my squad of stranglers sent to work in Rool.

It should be a sufficient enough incentive for people to head into my dungeon. It is also economical seeing as how they are actually only copper coins rather than actual gold coins. I just need to actually make them all.

I have also noted that there are natural beastmen here on Scar, created by the gods themselves. Those two slaves from over 10 years ago were apparently not through the unlikeliest of chance chances happening but rather yet another creation of the gods.

I feel like quite the dumbass from thinking too much about it at the time.

Hah… one last thing before I go again. I noticed that I can infuse elemental magic into my threads produced with [Web]. So if I infuse fire element magic into a thread made by [Web], whatever hits the thread also gets hit with fire magic. This can also be the other way around, giving partial resistances to the person wearing clothes or accessories with this enchanted thread.

I, being quite handy with my hands and needing to do something with them, absentmindedly created a thread for which a pendant can be hung from. Conscious me, having caught up to what absentminded me was doing, decided to go along with the whole thing and create a pendant.

I thought about which type of pendant I should make quite a bit. Then I remembered that it is basically going to rest upon a magic spider’s thread. From that point on it was easy. I just needed to grab some gold, a bit of orichalcum (no more than a small pebble sized piece), some iron and have a spirit enchanter enchant it with not being able to rust.

Badda bing badda boom, I made an ornamental spider locket that bestows upon its wearer heightened resistances to fire and lightning. It is a gold case with an iron hinge & clasp and a spider pattern on the front being made from inlaying the orichalcum into the gold. It is definitely my favourite accessory that I have made to date. The only problem with it is that I have no one to give it to.

Wait, there is C’thithra.

Yeah. I’ll just give it to her. She might like it. She might not. I just want to give it to someone and not have it rot away without one to wear it.

So yeah, a pretty nice month back at home complete with some new ideas.
