Relex SMILE / ICL eye surgery clinics in Tokyo

With coronavirus vaccination on the horizon, I am hoping to get corrective eye surgery done within a few months. Because of my extreme myopia, I suspect that Relex SMILE or ICL surgery will end up being better options than LASIK.

Does anyone have recommendations for clinics in Tokyo that offer both these procedures? It's important to me that they are comfortable working with someone who has limited Japanese ability.

And does anyone have referral discounts they can share?

So far Minami Aoyama Eye Clinic seems to be the one that both caters to English-speakers and has SMILE.

I did ICL at Shinagawa LASIK clinic last July and had no problems ever since, quick and easy procedure, although costs quite a bit (especially if you have astigmatism which I did). You don't have to know any japanese, you'll have a person fully assisting you all the way English only.

I did it at Minami Aoyama Clinic on recommendation of a friend.

A few things I didn’t like about it but in the end I can see very well which is the important part.

Not worth the extra cost in my opinion if I had to do it over again though.

Did you have SMILE or ICL?

I got Custom LASIK. Can’t remember why I didn’t go with SMILE but they do an initial checkup then recommend one for you.

The Custom part adds cost (+10 man) but lowers the night flare effect and is recommended if your eye is not so symmetrically shaped.

SMILE is a failed upgrade of lasik. It doesn't give you the desired vision as precisely as new LASIK method

Reading information in professional journals, I think that it's dramatically oversimplifying things to call it "failed." It has some advantages and disadvantages:
