Boombl4 has been my favorite navi player since I started watching csgo.. Man gets too much hate

Besides the usual suspects in s1mple and electronic, he's the x-factor for Navi. They either struggle against teams, or demolish them whenever he decides to show, so a fair bit of the spotlight is on him imo

Individual he's much better than his rating suggests but as an igl there's to many irrational decisions to call him a good igl

I'd genuinely put Perfecto up there too.

He has way more impact than his stats would suggest.

Perfecto is a fantastic player for the kinds of roles he's in, and while doesn't necessarily have the clutch factor of someone like xyp9x, but he makes up for it with some fairly impressive mechanics.

Idk about Boombl4 though, I can't really call him an x-factor in good conscience when his shortcomings look more like self sabotage. Watching him play sandbags 10 rounds in a row with an mp9 against a team that wouldn't in a million years peak it without bombarding it with utility first is just too dumb to ignore. Sure, sometimes he pops off for a tournament has an EVP performance, but that doesn't make up for the others where he single handedly throws decider matches. I think he ideally wants to play like arT, but arT happens to be a uniquely gifted player both in terms of mechanical ability and in his ability to read the game.

That criticism is not without reason. Given the kind of players on Na'Vi (s1mple and electronic, without question the two best CIS talents in CSGO, as well as Perfecto, a very solid support and competent clutch player, and B1t, a young up and coming aim-star on track to have the highest HS% of any player in the game's history) they shouldn't look as raw as they do. It's not really even a lack of strats (which tbh isn't even a big deal, you don't need innovative strats to be the best), it's just poor midround reads and decision making. This Na'Vi roster is among the most notorious for playing games against way weaker opponents much too close for comfort, and making very basic mistakes in man advantage scenarios. They look indomitable when they're on form, but also have an insane level of variance that is very visibly from foundationally shaky play. This is the team that should have been where Gambit is now, they certainly have the personnel for it, but the tactical side of their game is clearly very weak. I mean hell, I don't think there's a single reputable analyst who has gone on record saying Boombl4 is a fantastic IGL. I think this kind of inconsistency would be acceptable if he had similar players to work with as someone like hampus or art, but that's not the case.

Also, just so you know, both of Na'Vi's tournament wins in 2021 were off the back of s1mple having 1.41 event ratings, so yeah winning might have something to do with him hitting heads.

Seriously though, Nemiga continues to impress me. Wouldn't be surprised if they get to the 5th place decider above Forze.

Sloppy from NaVi but will Nemiga did run Gambit close until the 3rd map yesterday so maybe they’re half decent.

Starladder needs to step up their game man... Stream casually dropping for everybody for several seconds and you need to F5 to revive it, casters audio constantly clipping, overall low bitrate audio, steam bitrate lower/laggier than russian stream and most importantly the >!classic !<Starladder observer getting way too creative with overhead cams and completely forgets to show entries and trades (for example dust 2 mid or inferno banana)

Can agree with the stream dropping which was really frustrating.

However, I actually enjoyed some of the overheads for bombsite execs. It's really risky from an observer standpoint to do it, but when it's 1 for 1 for 1 for 1 trades into a bombsite , it's a bit hectic and not that pleasing to watch an observer try to keep up with that via POVs. Showing a third person perspective which clearly shows the execute, setup, and routing of players is really unique. I appreciate it.

I wouldn't prefer this for high pressure games full of star players, like I want to see how electronic tries to defend a bombsite in a semifinals through his eyes, but I genuinely enjoyed it for a lower stakes group stage match.

Don't get me wrong I like the overheads when they fit. Your example of execs is great but when I watch CIS players like electronic or b1t, or B defense from Perfecto, I wanna see them crack open that site from their view, i wanna see the crisp aim and micro decision making cuz thats what they do best. I just feel like they picked the path of least resistance when they show it in third person because it's easier this way, rather than precisely following entries and trades.
