Covid Vaccination Causing Loss Of Control?

Question

Hi all, apologies if this has been posted before but I can't find it anywhere.

I have had epilepsy for over 20years and I have had perfect control for over 10years. That ended 3 months ago when I had a seizure completely out of the blue and then continued with more for a few weeks afterwards. I am just getting my life back on track again however I have heard from 5 different unrelated people that they know people that have also lost control of Thier epilepsy within a week of having the Covid Vaccination. The first time I heard it I didn't really pay any attention but the more I have found out about these other people they all have similar stories to me, perfect control of 5+ years and all Astra Zeneca vaccination. Now I'm not one for the tin foil hat but I just can't ignore this anymore.

Has anyone had any loss of control after a period of long period of control after you have had the Covid Vaccination? I'm due to see my Neurologist next week and it'll be the first question on my lips. I cannot ignore this.

Hi, I saw over 60 patients in June with seizures or seizure like events. Many of whom told me they had the covid vaccine and experienced no change in their events. Out of the entire month, there was a single patient I saw who had a reaction but did also no have epilepsy. The neurologist who wrote the report believed it was just a coincidence that the patient got the vaccine and then experienced a decline in her symptoms as she had been experiencing symptoms before she had the vaccine. Take this as you will but that's my experience with it

I've had 2 jabs of AZ and no major drama at all - and certainly not any seizure activity. I also know about another 4/5 people who have not reported an increase in their seizure activity from their vaccinations. This would suggest your findings are not conclusive.

I am fully vaccinated and I did not have any seizures afterwards, on the other hand my body took the vaccine a lot better then even healthy people. The bottom line: the doctor told me to take it easy the next 2, 3 days after the vaccination and give the body lots of rest and sleep. It worked for me, I hope it might for you too ♡

I've had both of the shots from Pfizer. No change in seizure activity.

Actually catching COVID can cause neurological damage in some patients. That's the last thing I need - I'm epileptic thanks to viral encephalitis, which I caught when there was no vaccine developed for it yet. I knew there *might* be a risk from the Pfizer vaccine but I'll take that over the risk of COVID any day.

That said, AstraZeneca isn't an option in my nation (USA).

I'm fully vaccinated with the Pfizer shots. I didn't notice what you are describing. But, I did have some "beer goggles" in the periphery of my vision. About 5.5 hours after the 1st shot I was going into Penn Station. I remember seeing the bottom of the escalator and I came to about 40 feet from there with FDNY saying "you had a seizure".

When I went for the 2md one they had like 10 doctors standing around watching me. No reactions at all. What I can say is happening is that I am now getting bitten by mosquitoes. They avoided me like I had a roaring case of the rona. No longer.

I have a friend who had no seizure activity for one year after moving to a good medication regime and suddenly about a week after his second shot of Pfizer he is having seizures at about 1 a week, 5 weeks so far. Between 7 and 9 days apart. I agree it’s very hard to ignore but also rather difficult to diagnose. How did the visit go with your Neurologist?
