Edge slow when loading sites

I've noticed that pages load/DNS resolves a lot more slowly in Edge than in other browsers, but I've not yet been able to figure out why. When I type a URL into the address bar, it can take up to five seconds for a page to load, and I have high speed (not fibre) internet. Reddit takes five seconds, but when I load it in Safari (Mac OS) it only takes a little over one second. What might be causing this problem? I've tried turning off every single extension, but haven't seen any change. Is this the way Edge is supposed to work? Thanks for any suggestions!
