Can you safely full encrypted windows harddrive

So I remember around 2 years ago the saying was don use full disk encryption on your windows boot drive becaus windows tends to fuck things up.

Is this still true? Can i be sure that if I encrypted my windows laptop it wont just break becaus windows deleeted somting?
