My surgery was yesterday

Total laparoscopic hysterectomy. What was expected to take 2 hrs turned into a 5 hr surgery. My 12 cm & 10 cm fibroids were fused together and to my uterus. They were extremely dense and also entangled my left ovary, so she had to take it too. Instead of cutting a larger incision to get it all out, my beautifully caring surgeon tediously carved out everything with precision. I sobbed this morning thanking her for putting my healing first, and taking three extra hours to work on me. I highly doubt a male surgeon would have gone to such trouble. I feel blessed that I was referred to Dr. Nguyen T. Nguyen. She’s the best.

I’m taking Percocet, ibuprofen and gas-x, but still in a whole lot of pain from the darn gas!
