I forgot my dad's death anniversary

It's the 12th year since he died. I've known it was coming up but the day came and went and didn't cross my mind again until two days after. That makes me really sad... it's been so long I could just forget and I feel guilty for not even thinking of him that day. Honestly, that realization made me grieve him harder than I have in a while.
