Really sweaty small hands making deadlifts difficult
So I’ve been lifting for a couple years, with some breaks in between. I’ve got really small hands and pretty sure I’ve got some kind of sweating issue with my hands. When I deadlift heavy, I do a mixed grip, but even then, I can feel the bar slowly slipping out of my hands. It’s been a consistent issue throughout the years for me. I will wipe my hands on my pants, I’ve used chalk, but I just end up sweating through it. I have plenty of callouses on my hands but I don’t think they’re really helping me much with my grip since my warm little moist hands get them all soft and slippery anyway. It’s been bothering me because it kind of keeps me from doing more reps that I know I can do. I’ve tried a hook grip in the past but it was really uncomfortable and I didn’t feel very confident using it since my fingers barely rested comfortably around the bar. I’ve even thought about getting those gorilla grip wipes people use for like golfing or whatever but everyone tells me it’s gonna tear my hands apart. Anyone got suggestions/tips for this ? update for more info: to visualize, my thumbs just barely touch my fingertips around the bar when I deadlift.
