Hitler saved his best troops till Berlin: Huge debate

History

One of the least known but fascinating parts of WW2 is the story behind Hitlers and Himmer's elite private battalions that they held back in reserve to serve as their "body guards". Many modern historians now believe that the elite battle effectiveness of these troops could have effectively changed the war on both the East and the Italian fronts had these troops been released to the front lines.

The problem of course is that these best of the best soldiers (call them players) have been hand selected by Nazi top executives to be held back against all reason to stay behind and protect the Nazi officials. This is crazy, because your best talent is sitting around on the sidelines drinking champagne while your mediocre team is getting massacred on the Eastern and Western front.

We all seen what a great player/soldier can do in an individual battle, be it in professional sports, in a game or in anywhere really, take a great CEO he can change the company, so can a highly trained individual who can change a battle, inspire heroism across whole companies and battalions with their courage.

Now imagine you are an E-sports team and you purposely keep your top talent from competing in champion ship tourneys instead you send out your regular players who lose and then you wonder WTF?

In the end when these elite troops were finally allowed to fight in the final stages and months of WW2 they had 5:1 KPD and some of them went on crazy kill streaks both as tankers, infantry and stalled the Allied victory for months just off the backs of several elite squads primarily consisting of Hitlers/Himmers body guard Waffen SS hand picked soldiers.

Can you imagine if these 1000 soldiers were spread out correctly and inserted into several operational front line units way back in 1941? Man what a result it would have been for Germany, huge huge mistake and oversight and one that is now left for historians to debate over. Battle of Berlin tho is where its at.
