Emotionally venting -first words
As many new parents and new mother are, I’m really emotional about missing out on my son’s “firsts”. I told everyone that he would ever be in care of to not tell me of anything as I know it’s just part of life to miss things. But that if I didn’t know they would still be “firsts” to me.
Obviously I talked the most about this to my husband. I even talked about it to him 2 nights ago when I told him that I know our son is close to saying “mama” and to remind his mother not to tell me if he says it with her.
Then tonight as we’re cleaning up from dinner he says “OH! Our son said mama tonight as I was rocking him” (I wasn’t there….)
I know he was just excited too but I am so upset that after all my telling him I don’t want to miss it, he goes and tells me that I missed it!
I know I’ll feel better soon but I just needed to vent. If anyone else wants to share their similar stories here feel free! Maybe it can make me feel a bit better.
He did explain that he thought with all my talking I meant that I didn’t want to know if it was other people. He didn’t think he was included in that….
