Terrified to get second Covid Vaccine

Advice Received

I just got my first shot this month and I am super scared to get my second one next month. I am surrounded by anti vaxxers when it comes to my family and even some of my friends. I am one of three people in both mine and my husband’s family that is getting vaccinated.

Of course they are completely against it. Even my husband makes jokes about me shortening my life span. Along with that I keep seeing things about people having terrible, long lasting reactions to the second vaccine in another subreddit.

Now every time I think about getting my second shot I panic. Just to get comfortable enough to get the first shot I had to talk with my therapist and I’m sure she will say the same things if I contact her again about the second shot. I’m afraid that what she has to say is not going to help this time.

I want to be fully vaccinated, but I’m so scared I’m afraid I might end up not getting it.

Any advice on this would be really appreciated.
