Networking Knowledge

Hi, I’ve been using python in the context of certain APIs and realise concepts specific to networking come up now and then.

I was just wondering to what extent it would be recommended to brush up on knowledge regarding networks and any sources the more tech savvy among you would recommend?

To date I can get by without really having much knowledge by googling but it feels odd blindly following instructions without actually knowing what purpose your actions serve.
