[Spoiler] Thoughts on what this robot dog mission was all about? It made no sense.

So confused. I just started the game and dex told me Evelyn Parker wants us to get the dog from the maelstrom. But now this millitech lady stout says she wants the dog. I thought we were doing this for Parker? Why did dex tell me to call stout if we are working to get the dog to Parker. This makes no sense to me. Am I missing something or is this a massive plot hole? We are working for Parker but we are forced to give the dog back to millitech? Seems it’s doomed before I’ve even played it.
