Putting Stock Bobcat Miner in junction box
Just received my bobcat miner a few days ago and I would like to set the antenna outside my window. I've been looking around and have gotten both answers that the stock 4db antenna is and isn't weatherproof. I would rather be on the safe side and I was wondering if putting the antenna in a junction box like this would impede the signal at all?
I was planning screwing a hole in the back to fit the cable into it and getting a weather boot or some sort of seal in the hole. If it works well I would get a longer LMR-400 extension and eventually get it a little higher as I figure out how to set up an antenna mast with a different antenna.
