Should self defense be allowed in school?

If I'm in school and someone tries to attack me I'm going to fight back, I'm not just gonna stand there like a little bitch and let myself get injured. my teacher was always like "if someone is hitting you tell a teacher" like as if that's possible to do when it's happening right at that moment, it's fucking dumb as hell. they should get rid of that bullshit "zero tolerance" policy. cause it only punishes kids who do the right thing by defending themselves from the assaulter.
