Any tips for picking inmarsat with the nooelec antenna?
I'm having a couple of issues and hopefully its just my lack of experience.
First off, I'm getting faintest of signals from the inmarsat antenna and not nearly enough for jaero to lock on. I used the same set up I used for iridium (which had no problems) except with the inmarsat specific patch antenna and lna. 10 ft usb extension > rtl-sdr (bias tee on) > sawbird + io > inmarsat patch antenna > open sky - I just cant get a good signal to noise ratio no matter where I point this antenna.
My second issue is that, while troubleshooting, I turned off bias-t and attached USB power but the sawbirds light did not turn on. I disconnected and turned back on bias-t from the sdr and it lit up again.
Any advice for these issues? I was hoping I'd be able to pick up something for how expensive this is compared to the rtl-sdr blog patch.
