Why I'm confident in Kishimoto/Kodachi and I think the skeleton of the story hasn't changed. (Manga Spoilers. Chapters 56-59.)

SpoilerManga Spoilers

Hey there. ^^ I can see why some people tend to prefer the anime these days, and the manga's story seems a bit chaotic at the moment. A bit skeletal and undetailed, too. I'll try to explain why there's no need to worry about it. :) I've been meaning to make this post for a little while, but first, I had to phrase it as simply and briefly as I can.

First, if you don't know what a storyboard is, I'll explain it real quick. Basically, a storyboard is a basic outline of a story from beginning to end, all writers do this, and usually the ending is decided early on along with the middle and the beginning. Therefore, it doesn't matter how fast Boruto started to get animated, they most likely had a "rough" sketch of the entire story before it even started being written in 2016 and airing in 2017.

In essence, any experienced writer like Kishimoto wouldn't have suggested adding the timeskip scene unless they already had a storyboard for it.

Kishimoto most likely came up with the idea to make Boruto either after Naruto ended, or during late Shippuden when he introduced Otsutsukis into the plot. Once he got that idea, especially being helped by another experienced writer, Kodachi, he would've more than enough time to envision what would happen in Boruto's story between those years. Sometimes, a story board for a whole novel is done in a single day, or in a single week. Boruto had over 2 years.

That said, some fans think the recent chapters feel "out of place" in the series.

Point:

Odds are, Kodachi and Kishimoto worked on the exact same story board for Boruto since possibly late Shippuden. Changing it now would be too complicated, seeing as it's been years, we are at the mid point, and it would change the course of the story and future results (i.e. the timeskip.) Even if they change the tiniest thing at this point, it will change the future outcome too much. Let alone a major change.

I feel like the manga would go on hiatus before they could ditch the storyboard for a new one.

So, Kodachi leaving doesn't change a thing. Odds are he wants more time to focus on his own character, Kawaki, while the anime starts to adapt his arc. He wants to make sure it's done right and embellish some details. Kishimoto is just going ahead with the same storyboard he hatched years ago.

Yes, adding the minor villains could've been decided last minute, like Daemon and Eida, but it doesn't change the "skeleton" of the story, no matter how out of place they feel. /End
