Where do I dispose of a broken tv??anywhere near Roselle.

I’m trying to get rid of a large broken tv we need to throw out. The government website that lists places that take TVs to dispose of lists many places but so far every one I’ve called says they do not take TVs. It listed our local staples which I called to confirm. The guy said they do take TVs. Then when we arrived with this massive TV, a guy runs out to stop us and tell us they don’t in fact take TVs.

I’m so frustrated and I just need to get rid of this thing. Where the hell am I supposed to take it?? We live on the edge of Roselle near Schaumburg.
