Girl (28F) I (28M) have been dating for six weeks' mom posted on Facebook about her 'boyfriend' (who isn't me!). What should I do?
My ex and I were together for six years and had a very intense relationship, which involved travelling to around 20 countries together, helping me through the loss of a parent and each other through college. Unfortunately I went through a very destructive battle with alcoholism and she left me four years ago. At the time she didn't tell her parents for a couple of months that we had broken up, which I remember finding odd. Around six months later she got into a relationship with someone else.
I have been sober since March 2019, and she got back in touch about a year ago. She told me that she has thought about me literally every day since our break up and wanted to see me. We met up in August 2020, she confessed that she was still in a relationship with the guy she met shortly after we broke up but it 'wasn't the same' and she 'wasn't happy'. I told her that she'd have to fix that on her own and come back to me if she was single and ready to have a simple, no pressure date. She then reached out almost every month, talking about how miserable she was but that they had a contract for renting their apartment until August 2021 and it was lockdown, so she was 'stuck' there with him. I was casually dating a few women in the meantime but none of them had the spark I had with her.
In March she told me that she had officially broken up with him and told him he would have to move out at the latest when the contract for the apartment was up in August. I waited a couple of months as I didn't want to get heartbroken as a 'rebound' for her, but we went on a date in mid May. The following morning she messaged that she hadn't had that much laughter and fun on a date since we were last together. A couple of weeks later in June we met for another date, she pulled me in at the end and kissed me. A couple of weeks after that we had a third date where we were kissing a lot, she was talking about future dates we could have and seemed very keen.
There are two big red flags though. Firstly, despite seeming really keen and actually pursuing me (rather than the other way around), when we go to schedule a next date she is always unable to do anything sooner than around two weeks apart. (She is fairly busy and successful, as well as quite avoidant, so potentially understandable). But secondly I saw this evening on her mom's facebook page that two days before our first date she posted a picture of this girl saying 'So lovely to have 'x' and her boyfriend here this weekend'. Last week she also referred to her 'daughters' boyfriend' in a post.
How do I approach addressing this?
TL;DR: Dating my ex since mid-may, she is living with her 'ex' but her mom posted on facebook that she was staying at her house with her 'boyfriend'. She did previously not tell her parents that we had split up for a long time, could this be the same scenario? How do I go about approaching this?
