did i make a mistake? UDMP and USW-Enterprise-8-PoE-BETA

I picked up a USW-Enterprise-8-PoE-BETA to add some POE and Layer3 switching to my UDMP.

did i make a mistake thinking this new device can connect to my UDMP? It was replacing a Switch Pro 24 (non POE). I deprovisioned (removed) the switch pro and swapped over the 10GB connection to port 10 on the new USW 8 POE. its not showing up in the list of available devices for adoption.
