Is it bad that I don’t want to make a stop motion series with my figures because I don’t want to upset G1 fans for being inaccurate to G1?

I really want to make a stop motion series, but because the almost all of the characters in the series won’t be accurate to their G1 counterparts, I’m afraid the series will get a negative reaction for being inaccurate instead of how it was executed?

Edit: I’m going to stop holding myself back from making this series, but I want to know your opinion on my take on Hot Rod and what figure would work best for my version of the character.

Hot Rod is going to be a trigger happy arms dealer who is always updating his arsenal of weapons and I’m not sure if I should write him out because the character is different than the original iconic Hot Rod from the 86 movie AND I’m not not sure if the Titans Return Hot Rod would work for my take on Hot Rod or if I should use the SS 86 version because of how much praise I am hearing about that figure.
