Easy alternatives to ASP .NET in my situation.
So I'm an idiot. I coded my mom a website in Visual Studio using .NET webforms like 6 years ago. I built her an accounting website for her small business. She finally wants me to put it up. So yesterday, I bought a domain, and I bought a host plan. Turns out, this hosting service doesn't support .NET.
The reason I used .NET was for a very small feature on the site (and the only server side code in the entire project) and that was for a "Contact Me" page where a visitor would fill out who they are and click "Send". I get a little sketched out by putting my moms email out there (because of spam and potential targets) so I just used C#, since anybody can open the javascript console and see that my mom's email is hardcoded in the web source. I used.NET's SMTP library (System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient) and hardcoded her email address in the backend so that no-one really could see her email, they just know it was sent somewhere.
Am I being paranoid? Should I just simply rewrite those 20 lines of code in javascript to send an email directly to her, even though her email would be exposed? Thus allowing me to switch completely off .NET and just use a simple HTML/Javascript website. Or would python be a more widely accepted server side language for cheaper hosting websites?
I mean, I even thought about getting a dummy gmail account and hard coding that in the javascript, and having that email just auto-forward anything it gets to my moms email.
