Could my G-G-Grandfather have been a stowaway? How are stowaways recorded and how accurate is that information?

Brick Wall

Having trouble tracking down when and where g-g-grandfather arrived in the USA. After lots of exhaustive and boring searching through ships manifests I found one single match on the Massachusetts Archives search page. The age is wrong - he would have been 24 but it has him listed as 15 - and the spelling of his name is slightly wrong but their surname spelling changed a LOT. It has him listed as a stowaway on the last page of the manifest.

Is it possible they got his age wrong and this is really him? Would they have asked him a lot of questions/would there have been cause for him to lie and say he was 15 instead of 24? Or maybe the person writing it down just guessed?

Just looking for some info on how stowaways were recorded. Thanks all!

Edit: Here’s the record in question
