What happens if I connect a USB C or Thunderbolt dock with power pass-through to an iMac?

Can’t seem to find an answer to this anywhere. I have a Thunderbolt dock at home that I use for a work Windows laptop, it would give me access to USB-A ports if I connected it to my M1 iMac, but I’m worried the power being passed through would fry the iMac. Anyone know?
