Am I over sensitive?

Context: someone just casually said "go to die" after some heated argument, me which working in Medical field and in this middle of pandemic where my country suicide rate getting higher, step in, the one with the ToS shit. After I tried to said "wishing someone to die" is not a good thing, it seem I got backlash from others. Or maybe perhap, wrong word(s) used?
