Feeding Flytrap Mistake, Will it Effect the Plant?

HELP

Hey everyone so I recently got a fly trap for my dad and it's been doing quite well in terms of it's still alive. I bottom water it when the top moss feels dry and I've noticed some new flytraps maybe. I originally let it go without being fed for a bit as I didn't know when it's last meal was but today my dad caught a nice spider and was anxious to feed it. I agreed and we placed it in a trap. However, the trap refused to close or was but we couldn't tell. My dad decided to take the spider and put it in an older trap and it proceeded to close instantly on the spider. It was super cool to see but I do know not to mess with the traps and to be careful as it requires a lot of energy to close but he had to be somewhere and just switched it. As I type this the first trap we tried is closing just slower and I am wondering if this will harm the plant. It's quite small, only in a two inch pot so it doesn't have a lot of bulk to it. Will this harm the plant?
