Moving to SF

Hi everyone! I just got a job offer in the bay area and am poking around to figure out where to live. I’m from Philly and have never been to SF, but I’ll visit at some point before I move to see the city for myself. I’m 22 with a $75k salary, so I want to be either in or close to a lively area and hopefully not spend too much (though I know the SF housing market doesn’t agree). I’ll definitely find a roommate..or two..or more.. and am aiming to move around sept/oct. Also a huge plus would be an area with a lot of culture and diversity! Any recommendations on where to live (or general tips for a newcomer) would be great!
