On stream, Wubby asked during a rant "When WERE the good old days of Wubby?" Well, I'd like to give an answer

Discussion Thread

TL;DR: At the bottom

I've been a Wubby fan for years now. My first exposure to him was the video he posted on his main YouTube regarding the child doing ASMR videos and The Angelic Initiative. After that, I browsed through his content and loved seeing new videos pop up on my Subscriptions page every few weeks. They made my day. Generally, I enjoy videos in this kind of format. Taking topics that I know little to nothing about and making an entire video explaining what's going on. I'd say it mirrors the general format of video essays.

Then I discovered his stream. I followed for nearly 2 years, and recently subscribed (now that I can actually afford to). I loved his creative content, like The Price Is Scuffed and his Christmas Tesla giveaway show that I regrettably forget the name of. A significant amount of hard work and creative energy was spent on these projects and, regardless of the snags the team may have hit during the stream, that effort really paid off.

I love Wubby's sense of humor, even though it's different than mine I still find myself laughing every stream regardless of the content. Even though I'm not the biggest Magic: The Gathering fan, I love watching him and Alex get hyped over good cards during unboxing streams. What I mean to say is that even when the theme of the night isn't always up my alley, I still find a lot of value in his streams.

And people complained. For those who didn't catch this particular stream a day or two ago, Wubby was addressing the people who liked to bitch and moan that "Current Wubby isn't good like old Wubby" and he essentially made the point that he hasn't fundamentally changed and that they're simply romanticizing the nostalgic memories that these viewers hold from when they first discovered Wubby. While he does take the time to consider valid criticism of his streams (he uses the volatility of IRL streams with the backpack as an example), complaining like this only serves to demean the hard work he and the team are putting in. Allow me to take this opportunity to distance myself from these people. I hardly want to consider myself someone who will criticize the work ethic and creative direction of a content creator simply because it's not my favorite thing at the moment. Those people are weenies.

When I say "I miss the old Wubby", I mean the YouTuber who would call out animal abusers and weirdo's who claim to have spiritual connections to angels. I won't lie to myself or you guys, I like drama. It's entertaining to me, and quite frankly makes me feel better about how relatively stable my own life is. I only wish he would produce more of these videos. I'm certain that there's a good reason why he isn't, like how the amount of time it takes to prep for streams and come up with new stream ideas doesn't leave time for leisure and these kinds of videos. Or maybe every hour he spends working on a video is an hour he could be making way more money on stream or producing a video on his highlight channel (which I love to watch as well). Whatever the reason, I'm certain it's a good one.

So why should y'all give a shit about my opinion on the matter? Well, you shouldn't, and if you disagree I'm not going to argue with you about why I'm right and you're wrong. It's a matter of preference and nothing more. Feel free to share dissenting opinions regardless, but know that I don't intend to try to change any minds. My purpose behind making the post is simply to see if I'm in the minority on the matter.

TL;DR: I miss the content Wubby used to create on his main YouTube channel and I want to see who agrees or feels differently
