What is the importance of C/C++ for traditional networking jobs, cloud jobs and cyber security jobs?

Hi all I’m a big newbie to this stuff but will be attending college this year for a related program in networking and security. I know python is popular in networking and security but how relevant is C/C++? What are the specific jobs that would require this knowledge? (Network engineer? Cloud engineering? Systems admin jobs? Pentester? Network security or cloud security jobs?) I am jus trying to get a better understanding because some people say it’s very important others say it’s not. Thoughts?
