Apologists that try to defend the morality of the Bible are treating us like Children
Apologists spend a lot of time giving excuses for why a certain massacre or genocide was necessary. But this assumes that the events recorded in the Bible actually happened. In my study of Biblical Scholarship, I found out that the Noah story was copied from the Epic of Gilgamesh, leaving aside how it violates all the laws of physics. Abraham did not exist. There is no evidence that Lot was a historical figure and we do not have archeological evidence for Sodom and Gomorrah. Moses also did not exist and the Exodus story is a myth. The Joshua conquest of the Canaanites is not a historical event. Lastly, Adam did not exist because of evolution which makes one wonder why God sacrificed Jesus for the sins of a nonexistent figure.
Apologists should stop treating us like Children by assuming the Bible is a historical book and excusing the immorality of the Bible. They should explain why we should trust the Bible more than Harry Potter since it records historical fiction.
