My laptop's spacebar doesn't work at the sides

I got a surface 3, the spacebar didn't work at the corners. "No problem, i'll just return it and get a replacement". Second one had exact the same problem. I looked into it and learned It's not a defect, the surface 3 design is plain faulty. Why did microsoft think this was okay? and does the surface 4 have the same issue?

edit: And yes, the spacebar goes down, it just doesn't hit the little triggers underneath

edit edit: went to best buy and tried the handful of surface laptops they had on display (3, 4). Every one of them had the same problem. A good half-inch on either side of the spacebar

To be clear, all three Surface Laptop 4 15" laptops did NOT have this problem, neither did the GOs. just the below-15" 3's and 4's. The keyboards on these laptops are honestly SO low quality and I'm extremely disappointed with Microsoft with this. I still might settle for a Go
