"At the end of the day . . . . . "

Followed by whatever warped, disordered perception the N is lamenting about or gaslighting about in that particular moment. Whenever I hear someone start a sentence with "at the end of the day" it completely triggers me. In my experience none of those statements ever end in anything good.

Some primo examples from the N in my life:

  • At the end of the day, we just don't share the same values.
  • At the end of the day, we should always put family first.
  • At the end of the day, family should always be there to support you. Otherwise what are they for?
  • At the end of the day, all we want is an open and honest relationship. (Openness and honesty only applying to them telling you how much you have hurt them along with all your shortcomings, but never EVER being open to hearing anything about their own.)
