Spaceship concept

I was watching Star Wars today when I thought on why no mans sky ships don’t allow you to exit your seat in flight and walk around like wouldn’t it be really cool if you could put on a type of auto pilot and walk around your ship and invite friends into it like a freighter does. And then when you land a door opens up instead of jumping out through the window.
