Masturbating causes balanitis

I can't find anything about this online but I'm trying to quit masturbating for about a month because it seems to be triggering my balanitis. If I go a week without masturbating it pretty much clears up but then I struggle to resist the urge and eventually give in. The next day I get all the symptoms again. Anyone else suffer with this?
