PSA: Buying crowns is literally giving ZOS free money if you're not an ESO+ member. Get a sub instead.
Hey guys, I was mulling over buying some crowns today and I ran into an interesting observation that not everyone may be aware of. Tit-for-tat, you actually get more crowns with an ESO+ membership than literally any similarly priced crown pack. I broke it down below:
Sub tiers:
-
$15/30-day sub & 1,650 crowns (110.0 crowns/$1)
-
$42/90-day sub & 4,950 crowns (117.9 crowns/$1)
-
$78/180-day sub & 9,900 crowns (126.9 crowns/$1)
-
$140/365-day sub & 19,800 crowns (141.4 crowns/$1)
Crown pack tiers:
-
$8/750 crown pack (93.8 crowns/$1)
-
$15/1,500 crown pack (100 crowns/$1)
-
$25/3,000 crown pack (120 crowns/$1)
-
$40/5,500 crown pack (137.5 crowns/$1)
-
$100/14,000 crown pack (140 crowns/$1)
-
$150/21,000 crown pack (140 crowns/$1)
So if you're not currently subbed to ESO+ and you want a couple crowns for something neat on the shop, do yourself a favor and get an equivalently priced ESO+ sub instead. More benefits for less money. This probably doesn't work so well if you already have an ESO+ sub like I do, since I don't think it'll 'add' to your current sub period to just purchase another sub. But hopefully I can help out a few non-subbed members.
Not to start some ZOS dogpile, but now that I realize this, it makes the crown pack purchase prices seem like intended price gouging.
