Caribbean Mission: Log Five - We'll Get There Fast (The Two Islands)
Today we may have come across the Titan responsible for the egg site attack, though there are uncertainties. Using some new Hollow Earth vehicles capable of aquatic, terrestrial, and aerial travel, we descended into the Hollow Earth beneath the Caribbean, only to discover that a sea is beneath this one as well. This sea, named the Altahua Sea by Monarch, runs underneath the Caribbean, Mexico, the Sea of Cortez, and part of the North Atlantic. In it we found two islands of note, two new fascinating destinations Monarch cannot wait to explore more of. The first, later named Kalinago Island (in honor of the people whose alternate names, the Caribs, the sea above is named), populated by smaller and larger versions of other Hollow Earth wildlife, including Rock Critters the size of large pigs and Fog Bulls the size of camels, to Shaggy Beasts the size of cassowaries and Coelosuchus the size of caimans, demonstrating how Foster's rule extends to the Hollow Earth as well, with animals in other parts of the Hollow Earth having different sizes here depending on their size on the 'mainland' (larger animals getting smaller and smaller animals getting larger). The island is roughly the size of Santa Cruz Island, and possesses a shape similar to that of an upside-down eagle's head in profile (leading to the nickname Eagle Island). The island's northeastern side seems to have a 'geyser field' churning the waters off its coast that makes landing there difficult (though Monarch has only been on the island for a few minutes, and intends on returning there again). 323 miles away is the much larger island, one we named Casa de Aguas, or 'water house,' which is unusual in terms of geography compared to any known island, in the Hollow Earth or otherwise.
Casa de Aguas' borders are like a volcanic rim, reaching to the very 'ceiling' of the Hollow Earth, moreso resembling an immense cavern floating on the water than an island. Numerous waterfalls line the outside, which is as craggy as a mountaintop. Ruins of an ancient Hollow Earth civilization are present too, most notably a large serpentine statue that acted as foreshadowing for what we saw next. We eventually found a 'tunnel' leading within. The tunnel was pitch black once you got in deep, and we had to turn on our lights to see, which are the ones used by research teams going into the dark depths of the oceans. At one point we saw a large, tapir-like animal with a lobed, trunk-like structure swimming about. It had white, pale skin with two small black spots for eyes, and most likely was an animal used to the darkness of the tunnel. Upon 'seeing' our lights, disappeared into the water, and we only were able to take a blurry photo of it before it vanished. After a few minutes we saw bright blue lights ahead. We turned off our lights as we entered a large open space. Numerous pools of water supported by waterfalls were layered like terraces around the cavern walls, all illuminated by blue dinoflagellates, casting the cavern in an ethereal blue light. Our antigravity scans showed us above that a Hollow Earth exit was above, its antigravity effects having a vortex of rocks above swirling like a galaxy. But what caught our attention was at the center of it all. A rocky column in the middle of a water pool in the center of the cavern had a large coiled object around it. When our scanners indicated an odd radiation signature from the column. Then two blue eyes opened. We then realized that coiled around the column was a long, snake Titan. It's hypnotic blue eyes gazed at us, cocking its head as our vehicles approached it. Luckily the radiation was in light quantities, so we were able to exit without radiation suits. We emerged, and the air was warm, especially around the base of the column. When we exited the Titan got closer to us, slithering off the column and leaning its head close to us. It seemed curious about us, and drew its head from one person and vehicle to the next before emitting a kind of chirp or trill before retracting back to its original position atop the column. Monarch isn't sure if this Titan is the snake Titan that raided the Honduras egg site (since there are many snake Titans and it is possible that if this Titan's species did it, it can be another member of it), but is keeping an eye on the Titan, the file of which will be released tomorrow. Before leaving we deposited some equipment to keep an eye on the place and took samples, including cameras and sensors. So to sum this up, we have located two islands in an oceanic part of the Hollow Earth, and uncovered a new Titan. Until tomorrow, here's log five. Beyond Logic Lies Truth.
