Received Box for Food While Still Eating & Not Given Bill While Others Were

My mother and I went into a BBQ restaurant in Estes Park, CO (we were the only POC), and we didn’t have the most friendly waiter (it happens). They first gave us only one eating plate, and we tried to call for the waiter and they did not respond so we had to walk up to ask for an additional plate. Additionally, when we were still eating, they gave us a box for our food, and we also noticed that when serving other guests, the guests asked for a box and they gave and packed the food for them, as well as giving them the bill. We were not given a bill and had to walk up to pay for the food. We also received a lot of stares from the workers, making us a bit uncomfortable. Is this a common thing to happen in restaurants? Because this has never happened to me before…
