I'm just really lonely and I could use a hug.
Hi, all.
I don't really know if this is the right sub to post it — it really seems silly when I compare it to the others posts I see here. Please tell me if it's not appropriate.
I just really need a hug. I've been feeling really lonely since the pandemic hit (a year and a half ago), I'm a really social person and I have barely seen anyone but my family and SO for this entire time. I used to always hang out with someone during or after classes at uni, but now I am always alone. I know this is necessary, but it still feels terrible. I still talk to my friends online, but I don't really see them at all.
I also don't leave my house unless I have to go to class or run important errands. I, myself, am in a risk group (asthma), but I'm more worried about my grandparents, who are dependent on us for most things. They're not fully vaccinated yet, so I have to be more careful.
Recently, the Delta variant has taken over my country, specially the city my SO is from, so seeing him is also restricted now. The population isn't very careful, either — my friends are constantly hanging out with one another. It's frustrating to know I'm making the right choice and staying home, while also wanting to be with them.
I'm also trying to finish my BSc degree, and uni work has piled up so high I can never take any time to rest. It just ends with me feeling more depressed and more stressed at the end of each day.
In conclusion, I really, really need a hug. I need to cry a little bit. Even if I have no time to worry about that right now.
